What legal action can you take if you spot a player selling virtual items for REAL MONEY?

Let me make this clear because people have a hard time understanding what I type. Selling virtual items (the property of x company that made the video game) for REAL MONEY (i.e. money you can spend. I’m not talking about virtual money) is illegal. It’s illegal because it clearly states in the term and conditions of any particular massively multiplayer game that the items in-game are the sole property of the company and no other. -Meaning, you cannot sell virtual items for REAL CASH - you know, the type of cash you spend on gas for cars or food for your family.

ME2 by Irwin Toy, Motion-based point system in Virtual World

At the 2008 NY Toy Fair there was a new virtual worlds product announcement called ME2 by Irwin Toy which is designed for kids. What is most compelling about this world is the pedometer-like devices that are sold to kids to access the online experience. As kids move, exercise, ride a bike, and play with the device attached to their waist, the device accumulates points. These points then become the online currency in the virtual world for buying virtual items. A great virtual world idea and …

Trade angst with China and India?

It's all about labor, cheap labor. To pit a family of four in the Midwest or any US city, against a worker 12 years old in China or India is unconsciable. Trade restrictions are blamed for causing the Great Depression, and they indeed participated, but trade restrictions are the ONLY way to ensure there is any manufacturing base in the US at all. I am politically moderate to conservative, but I am outraged at this administration's completely turning it's back on the working men and women in this country. The result? Economic explosions in the East, resulting in the soaring of energy prices globally, and the virtual collapse of manufacturing in the United States. The news today barks of congress growing tired of China's currency manipulations. Get smart, America. China is taking care of China. It's time we begin taking care of America. PROMOTE MANUFACTURING HERE!

Have you heard of ‘Second Life’…?

The Government is spending more than £12,000 a year on a hub in the virtual world Second Life that it does not even promote online.

A 3D "innovation centre" was created by the Department for Work and Pensions but it is not advertised on the DWP website.

Junior minister Jonathan Shaw told Parliament it cost £20,000 to build and a further £12,000 a year to maintain.
